3 Main Reasons to Consider Online Backup

Mozy, one of the most popular online backup services, states on their website that a computer is stolen every 3 seconds.

I know first-hand – my business partner had his stolen 2 years ago and he is still struggling to put his work and home files back together.

Unfortunately, that is just impossible because he had no backup of anything.

At the time, I didn’t have backup at the time, either, so who was I to say…but after some study of the options, I came to the conclusion that online is the only way to go.

Here is why you should backup your data online:

1. Online Backup is Automatic

Experts say, the biggest reason individuals and businesses don’t backup is it requires a change in routine to remember to do it.

In other words, you have to build a new habit…which, if you have ever had to quit anything, you know is not something to take on lightly.

By signing up with an online backup service, you are taking a daily hassle and making it automatic – which means, it will actually get done!

2. You Can Trust Online Backup

At first, it sounded crazy to me to send my valuable data to a company I didn’t know and would likely never see.

As I investigated though, I found that the major players in online backup – Mozy, Carbonite, SugarSync – all have been around for years and won dozens of business awards.

They encrypt your data before it leaves your computer or smartphone and then encrypt it again in a different way when it arrives to be stored on their servers.

Now, I have been personally backing up online now for some time now and feel very comfortable with the system and the process.

3. Your Data Stored Remotely

It does no good to backup your data and then store the backup copy in the same place as your computer.

If something happens – like a flood or fire – your copy will likely get destroyed along with your computer.

By using online backup storage, your files are duplicated and kept at a remote location far away from your computer.

That is best practice for data backup storage and the safest way to protect your files, pictures, and emails.

In conclusion, making the decision to finally backup your data is a relief and real ego boost! You will feel a lot more in control and you will feel more relaxed.

Homeowners insurance when burglarized

It’s a curious fact that the federal government does very little to monitor the amount of crime. You would imagine the Department of Justice would be interested to follow the statistics of wrongdoing so that resources could be targeted where most needed. Instead, we have judicial statistics that record the number of cases coming before the courts – the tip of the iceberg with so little crime actually detected. The police admit to solving less than 10% of the burglaries reported to them. Yet the statistics show the number of burglaries has been falling. This surprising fact is explained in two ways. First, most people have the basic contents of a home so burglars struggle to find buyers for the goods they steal. Second, more than a quarter of our homes are now fitted with an alarm system, iron bars on the windows, and stronger doors. This makes it more difficult for the burglar to break in. Obviously, a determined thief will always get in but, if it looks too much hassle, most move on in search of a home where the owner has helpfully left a door or window open.

So let’s start with the good news. Most insurers offer a discount for people who fit security measures to reduce the risk of a burglary. Check with your current insurer to see what gives the biggest savings. Now come back to your home with a little more confidence. You may still find the worst has happened, but you have done your best to prevent it. Now the practicalities: did you have enough cover? Whether you are a renter or an owner, it’s worth paying the full rate to cover the replacement value of all your possessions. Walk through the rooms and make a list. It’s too easy just to think of the more expensive items like the television, your computer(s), cameras and music equipment. You will be surprised how quickly the value of the contents rises when you actually list all you have.

In fact, there should be two lists. One should be the everyday possessions, the other the expensive items. This can be jewelry, artwork and other collectibles. Take photographs of all the expensive items. For all the larger electronic and domestic goods, make a note of the serial numbers. Insurance companies are always more comfortable if you have proof of purchase – yes, it’s a good idea to keep receipts and instruction manuals should a claims adjuster ask for them. Receipts are also useful to show the original value. If you have no receipts, look for evidence of payments on credit card and bank statements. Even PayPal may show payment when you bought online.

Although this all looks a lot of hassle, you are smoothing the way should you come back to a burglarized home. Now you have a master list, it’s easy to find what’s been stolen. The claims check is also likely to arrive more quickly, which should make you feel a little better. Now spend some dollars to make your home a fortress and the next home insurance quotes will not rise too much. When you claim, remember this will be recorded in CLUE and A-PLUS so, when you next come to renew your homeowners insurance, all insurers will know about your claims history.

Advance Check Cashing-get Cash Through Check

Do you need cash in advance? Are you not willing to disclose your checking account number to the lender? If your answer is in affirmative, then you should go for advance check cashing. The lender will provide you the check with requested amount. These loans are beneficial for those who do not have a checking account or who do not want to reveal its number for the security purpose. These loans provide you quick cash without making you wait till your next salary day. In short, these loans are a substitute of your pay check.

Advance check cashing can be easily availed through internet service. The online method provides you instant money within less or no time. You are required to fill an online application form providing your basic details like name, age, sex, contact information, income proof, employment status, etc. and submit it online. The application form will be analyzed by the lender and if satisfied, he will instantly grant you the requested loan amount within 24 hours time.

You can fetch these funds without any hassle, if you are a citizen of US with an age of at least 18 years. You must be having a regular source of income with a steady job in a US firm. If you fulfill these conditions, you will be able to borrow the amount ranging from 70 dollars to 1500 dollars. You are required to pay back the borrowed amount within 14 to 31 days. These loans are a bit expensive because these loans are short-term in nature. So, spend the borrowed amount wisely.

The best feature of these loans is that even the poor creditors can also ask for money. There are absolutely no credit checks. The poor credit tags like arrears, defaults, bankruptcy or late payments will not affect the lenders decision to provide you the loan.

Why a maternity swimdress is the best for you

Are you pregnant and want to go swimming, yet don’t know what type of maternity swimsuit will be best for you? Maybe you think that bikinis are a little too exposing and that one-piece suits are not worth the hassle of getting into. Or maybe you’re tired of all those women wearing the same old tankinis. What else is there for you to try? Well, why not a maternity swimdress?

A swimdress is a two-piece swimsuit, much like a tankini but looking more like a mini dress. It is much more flattering than any other swimsuit and can give you great coverage without looking too “baggy.” They have been around for a long time and have been popular mainly with older women, but now they are making a comeback.

You might remember your mother wearing these long ago or might have even seen a picture of your grandmother wearing one of these.

Yet, the designs available now are very fashion forward and are tailored to accentuate without sacrificing comfort. Even women who don’t feel the need to cover up love it because of their now trendier and sexier designs. Most are patterned after typical modern dresses but with the added feature of you being able to swim in it.

For the top, you can choose designs with ruffles for a more girly look. You also have the option for thick straps or thin straps depending on your body type. Typically thin straps will be more flattering for a petite figure while thicker straps are suited for almost any body type. Tie fronts will give you flexibility to adjust your top while halter necks are very flattering no matter your bust size. Go for V-necks or U-necks for a more classic look or with spaghetti straps if you want support but are not a fan of thick straps. For the more adventurous or daring mothers, try on a backless or bandeau type, just make sure your bust gets ample support.

You also have the option to choose what kind or dress you get- a free flowing skirt that’s flared at the bottom will be able to hide your backside, something with a v-cut will accentuate your waist, while a full skirt will minimize your rear and thighs.

A maternity swim dress will vary in length but a standard one will cover enough to hide your baby bump. If you want more coverage, look for a longer dress so that it can cover a part of your thighs as well.

Swim dresses also come with the advantage of being a swimsuit and cover up in one. After swimming, you don’t need to don an extra cover, as your swim dress already does this for you.

If you’re looking for a better alternative to your swimsuit, a maternity swimdress is the thing for you. They can provide the comfort and coverage needed for pregnant mothers while being trendy and fashionable at the same time. You’ll be sure that it won’t “shrink” on you and it can accentuate your features while hiding those things that are better left unseen.

How to Choose the Right Hosting Provider for Your Business

Finding a hosting provider for your website is not somewhere that you want to cut corners. While it might seem like a simple enough process, there are a lot of factors that go into making a good web host. Not all companies that seem like good solutions will live up to your expectations or be able to offer the services that you need. Before you make a decision on any hosting provider, you need to ask yourself several questions.

What Level of Hosting Do You Need?

The first question that you need to ask yourself is what level of hosting you actually require. You’ll find a wide range of discount plans available for an incredibly low price. However, you need to understand that these usually come with no assistance at all – you’re on your own. That’s a perfectly workable scenario for those who know what they’re doing, but if you’re a newcomer to the world of web hosting, that is really no solution at all. If that sounds like you, then something a bit more than basic hosting is needed.

Do You Need a Dedicated Server?

In most budget hosting situations, your website will share server space with others. That allows the host to offer lower prices than if everyone had their very own server. With that being said, some websites do require a considerable amount of storage space – extensive product catalogues, custom databases and other things can really eat up storage space. A dedicated server might be an ideal solution for you, but it will cost you more in the long run. However, that higher cost comes with some significant advantages for a business owner.

?Do You Need Managed Hosting?

For business owners who know very little about web hosting or want to be completely hands-off, a managed hosting plan can be an ideal solution. Usually, these are only offered with dedicated servers. However, the higher price leads to significantly better convenience, as well as saving time and hassle. With a managed hosting plan, the web host that you choose will maintain your site, apply all updates, manage security, apply patches and more. In short, they take care of everything needed so all you need to do is concentrate on running your business.

Consider Longevity

These days, it seems like a new hosting provider pops up every five minutes. That explosion of providers is due directly to advances in technology that make it cheaper to get involved. However, it’s highly advised that you choose a company that has a decent history in the industry. While there is nothing inherently wrong with a startup firm, working with a company that has a verifiable track record of success, a long list of satisfied customers and a reputation for quality is the best option. Doing anything else puts you at risk for serious problems. Always choose a web hosting provider that has proven they have what it takes to remain in business in this very competitive industry.
