Direct TV Installations Secrets

If you have an intention of getting Direct TV with nonsense, then you should read this article to know some facts.

First, the technical mumbo jumbo – There are 6 active Direct TV satellites parked in outer space that are always in the same spot in reference to the ground. Every location in the United States pulls off of these satellites. The main satellite (named 101) has six replacement satellites in orbit directly underneath in case the main, active satellite fails. The two beside it are for HD and additional programming. The other two are for Spanish and international channels. So with basic, standard service you are only pulling off of satellite 101. The dish is small, has only one LNB (head) and reception is usually very easy to obtain because you just need a little hole in the sky to be able to get a signal.

Then there is the KA/KU dish (HD) which is a much bigger dish that has 3 LNB’s and pulls reception off of 3 different satellites. These are much harder to zone into because you need a much bigger piece of open sky, and you have to be incredibly accurate to get great reception off of all 3 Sats. If you are off center by 1 inch on the ground, you are 1000 miles off center in space. Which brings me to these important issues…

1. If your house is completely surrounded by huge trees or any other obstruction(s) then there is a large chance you will not get a signal. It amazes me how many people, after being told which direction needs to be clear, will have absolutely no line of sight for reception and yell, cry and complain when I tell them.. Please check your line of site.

The operator will tell you exactly which direction to look from your zip code.

2. Installs are free to you WITH EXCEPTIONS. A basic install is putting up the dish, running cable (if needed) to the location that you want your receiver installed, and walking you through the guide when activated. That’s it. If you do not have a line of site from any position ON your house then you will have to get a pole mount done. A pole mount will cost you on the spot. Want an extra line to a room without a receiver? cash. Anything that is not acquainted with the basic install WILL COST YOU CASH MONEY, ON THE SPOT!

3. If a DVR receiver is a part of your install, whichever room it is located in will have to have a 2nd cable line installed as well. This is so you can record on one line and watch something different on the other line. You WILL have a hole drilled into your floor or wall of that room. Need the cables wall fished instead? 0 charge. So please be prepared, we are not allowed to move TVs or entertainment centers but we will drill holes into your nice new pergo floors.

4. Be nice to us. I meet so many great people with this and then my day is ruined by a complete Jerk. I bend over backwards to make sure that you have the best quality service. Life is too short for such unhappiness so either enjoy it or waste it.

That’s technically it… Direct TV is loved and hated by many. Personally, the quality is better but reception does tend to go out in stormy weather, and the price is unbeatable.

Auto Insurance Loyalty Discount

Although California auto insurance policies will not offer a continuous coverage discount when changing insurance companies many companies will offer their clients a loyalty discount. These discounts will vary from five to ten percent between companies. Many times that consumer will be eligible for the loyalty discount if they maintain the same insurance policy for at least 12 months.

In California all auto insurance rates are reviewed and approved by the department of insurance. Insurance companies are required to comply with the guidelines and rates that are approved by the California DOI. There can be no variations or exceptions to the rates that are approved. This is meant to help ensure that the carriers maintain profitability and are not pricing their policies to a point that could harm the financial strength of the companies or charge higher premiums than what would be appropriate.

With these rates being set consumers should understand that when they are shopping auto insurance policies between carriers it may be a good idea to make the change even with as low as a 10 percent saving on the policy.

Since the new insurance company is not able to immediately provide a discount for continuous coverage the rates being quoted for the initial policy term are quoted without any type of loyalty discount.

With this being said, a consumer that changes insurance companies and is expecting an initial savings of 10 percent could easily see a 15 to 20 percent savings after the policy matures and they receive the loyalty discount from their new insurance company. Consumers should keep this in mind and think of the long term saving of changing insurance carriers rather than exclusively focusing on the saving during the initial policy term.

An Ecommerce Solution for Selling Digital Products

- ECommerce Website Design and Creating Custom Paypal “BuyNow” Buttons -

One of the most important aspects to consider when selling digital products online, and implementing a new ecommerce website design, is how to provide a secure and easy payment solution for the immediate delivery of digital products. Paypal offers most of the ecommerce payment solutions necessary for an ecommerce website business, with a couple of minor, but significant exceptions.

When developing an online ecommerce web site that sells digital products, such as Ebooks and Edocs it is imperative to enable customers to automatically download the products immediately after they purchase them. This is one of the main reasons why people buy digital products online. However it is also just as important for authors and artists to protect their work from Internet hackers. Thus an ecommerce payment solution needs to protect both the buyer and the seller. Paypal addresses most of these needs by enabling online purchases via the use of encryption technology and “BuyNow” ecommerce Buttons.

However, there are limitations to Paypal’s standard ecommerce encryption and “BuyNow” Button tools that can make the online purchase of digital products less than a positive experience.
With Paypal’s standard merchant tools a seller has the ability to create unique encrypted Paypal payment buttons with unique return URL hyperlinks displayed on the final Paypal payment page, however there is a significant limitation.

The advantage of creating separate return URLs is that the seller can create separate download pages that have hyperlinks to each separate downloadable digital product. The problem, however, is that the URL is referenced by a fixed “Return to Merchant” title message on the final Paypal payment page. This “Return to Merchant” title is unclear to the buyer and consequently many customers do not click on it to go to the download page. Instead they get angry and frustrated and contact ecommerce website designers and webmasters to vent their frustrations.

The simplest way to solve this problem is to be able to change the return URL title “Return to Merchant” to something like “Click here to Download Your Order”. However this is easier said than done as it is impossible to do with Paypal’s standard Merchant tools for creating Paypal “BuyNow” buttons. The major reason for this is that most ecommerce website designers select to have their Paypal buttons encrypted when creating the Paypal buttons using Paypal’s “BuyNow” create buttons tool. They do this so that Internet hackers can not easily find the download pages on their website and effectively steal the product. The root problem however is that when the encryption option is selected under the Paypal “BuyNow” buttons utility tool, it becomes impossible to edit the “Return to Merchant” text.

The key solution to this problem is to use open source encryption tools such as OpenSSL (Open Source Secure Sockets Layer). OpenSSL is a free tool kit that can be found on the internet and that allows ecommerce website designers to create and encrypt custom Paypal buttons.

Franchise Investments – Do I Need Previous Industry Experience?

Most franchise opportunities don’t require that you have industry experience in order to qualify as a new franchisee, and in a few cases it is actually preferred that you don’t have any previous industry experience. Like all conversations of this sort there are exceptions, and we will note a few below.

In many ways one of the most important characteristics of that franchise systems look for in a prospective franchisee, is a willingness and an ability to follow a system. After all, much of the value that a good franchise brings to the table is a system that helps new business owners avoid common mistakes. Franchise owners who aren’t willing to follow the system are much more likely to make common mistakes, and be dissatisfied in the long run. Potential new owners with extensive industry experience are often less likely to fully engage in the franchise’s training program, and are much more likely to want to do things that don’t support the system.

Conversely new owners, with less industry experience are often anxious to learn and grow. New owners who are willing to trust their franchise system, follow the well-documented procedures, and go out of their way to follow established procedures, will often find themselves receiving a high level of support from the franchise organization, which has the potential to shorten the path to financial success.

Training varies among franchise systems, but most systems include intense up-front training. Some systems also include extensive on-site training, shared sales calls etc., and almost every system has some sort of ongoing training that is delivered via conference calls or the Internet.

There is one notable industry segment that often looks at this differently. The food-services, or restaurant industry often seeks out new owners who have had industry experience. There are several potential reasons for this, but in general running a restaurant is hard work, it often involves long hours and an ability to deal with an employees effectively, and presumably food-services franchisors want individuals who know what they are getting into.

In short, if you are looking to buy a franchise, don’t worry too much about previous industry experience, and emphasize any experience you might have in management, sales, and team work. Most great franchise systems love new owners with these characteristics.

Days of the Week in Moroccan Arabic

The names used for the days of the week, in Moroccan Arabic, and the numbers used for counting in both Standard Arabic and Moroccan Arabic are similar. This is because words for some days of the week are the same words or similar (derivatives) as the ones used for counting. We will clarify this point with some examples.

When counting in Standard Arabic. The following words are used for counting:

one – wahed
two – etneen
three – thlata
four – areb’a
five – khamsa
six – seta
seven – sb’a

Here are the names for the days of the week in Moroccan Darija:

Sunday – lhad
Monday – etneen
Tuesday – tlat
Wednesday – larbe’
Thursday – lekhmis
Friday – jem’a
Saturday – sebt

Note, the similarities between the words for some of the names of the days of the week and the numbers used for counting. Sunday is regarded as day 1. Monday is regarded as day 2 and the word for 2 is ‘etneen’ while the word for Monday is also ‘etneen.’ The word for the number 3 is ‘tlata’ while the word for Tuesday is ‘tlat’ which is similar to ‘tlata.’ There are days of the week which bear no similarity to the numbers used for counting.

It should be noted that the word “youm” is sometimes used in front of the day of week. The word ‘youm’ means “day.” Here are a few examples:

youm lhad

youm etneen

youm larbe

The days of the week, used in Moroccan Arabic, bear similarity to the numbers used for counting in Standard Arabic. Likewise, the numbers used for counting in Moroccan Arabic also bear similarity to the words used for the days of the week. The exceptions are the words “juj” which means 2 and the word “khamsa” which means 5. The words for day 2 (Monday) and day 5 (Friday) have no similarity to the words “juj” or “khamsa.” The numbers used for counting in Moroccan Arabic are listed below:

one – wahed
two – juj
three – tlata
four – reb’a
five – khamsa
six – sta
seven – sb’a

The names for the days of the week and the numbers for counting in Standard Arabic and in Moroccan Arabic are similar. This is because some of the days of the week use the same words or are derivatives of the words that are used when counting.
